Brant Woods delivered the headline performance of the inaugural Freedom 50 at Miami County Raceway, winning the 50-lap NOW600 Non-Wing Outlaw Micro feature and collecting the event’s $10,000 winner’s payday on Saturday, May 23. Woods started second alongside pole sitter Frank Flud and went on to top a 20-car A-Feature lineup in the marquee division.
The official NOW600 results show Woods taking the victory ahead of Flud, who finished second after starting from the pole. Brecken Reese completed the podium from the fourth starting spot, while Robbie Smith and Caleb Shietze rounded out the top five. Shietze moved forward from ninth to fifth, and James Roselli gave the field another notable drive by advancing from 13th to eighth after winning the LCQ earlier in the program.
The night’s support divisions also produced significant wins. Levi Ballard captured the NOW600 Restricted Micros A-Feature after starting third, beating Mason Vincent and Braxton Flatt to the line in the 20-lap main. In Junior Sprints, Stetson Stroup started from the pole and won the 15-lap feature, while Dax Terrell charged from eighth to finish second and Ryker Sumner came home third.
For Miami County Raceway, the Freedom 50 gave the micro sprint scene a major late-May spotlight. The combination of a $10,000-to-win Non-Wing Outlaw main event, a deep 53-car field in the headline class, and full Restricted and Junior Sprint programs gave the inaugural event the feel of a race that could quickly become a recurring target on the regional micro sprint calendar.
