From Metropolis to the Main Event: Meet 12-Year-Old Micro Sprint Driver Bradon Holt
There is nothing quite like watching a young driver find their groove on the dirt track, and here at Micro Sprint Hub, we are always thrilled to spotlight the rising talent shaping the future of our sport. Today, we are excited to introduce you to 12-year-old Bradon Holt, a hard-charging racer out of Metropolis, Illinois, who is already making serious noise behind the wheel of the number 5 car. Racing out of both the Jr Sprint and Restricted Micro classes, Bradon is proving that dedication, grit, and a passion for speed can turn a fresh start into an unforgettable ride.
Every racing story has a beginning, but Bradon’s journey onto the dirt is as pure as it gets. Just last year, he decided to step into the world of motorsports for the very first time in the Jr Sprint division. He had never raced anything before—no prior karting, no years of practice—he simply wanted to get out on the track and try it out. What started as a simple curiosity quickly turned into a full-fledged passion. Bradon took to the dirt like a natural, proving that sometimes all it takes is a helmet, a steering wheel, and the courage to hit the gas. When asked about his favorite place to turn laps, Bradon points right to Southern Illinois Raceway, where he loves to test his skills against tough competition. Looking up to racing icon Kyle Larson for inspiration, Bradon brings that same relentless drive and focus every single time he straps into the cockpit.
To compete at a high level across two competitive classes, you need machine setups that are built to perform, and Bradon’s team has assembled a stellar fleet. In the Jr Sprint class, Bradon pilots a TW Jr Sprint chassis powered by a reliable SRD Jr Sprint engine. As he transitions up into the Restricted Micro ranks, he steps into a Hyper Restricted Micro chassis paired with a stout Kawasaki Restricted powerplant. This impressive equipment combination gives him the right tool for every track condition, allowing him to refine his craft while stepping up to faster, more demanding competition.
That hands-on seat time is paying off in a big way on the stat sheet. Across his racing career so far, Bradon has put together an eye-popping resume that includes 6 total wins, 12 top 5 finishes, 22 top 10 finishes, and 23 feature starts. Looking specifically at his recent campaign, Bradon entered 20 Jr Sprint features and put together a remarkably consistent run, locking down 5 wins, 10 top 5s, and finishing in the top 10 all 20 times. That level of consistency is impressive for any driver, let alone one who just picked up the sport a year ago.

Behind every successful young driver is a strong support system, and for Bradon, it all starts at home. The number 5 team is owned by his dad, Brandon Holt, who is right there in the pit crew every step of the way. From prepping the cars to making chassis adjustments and making sure everything is race-ready, Brandon provides the backbone for Bradon’s racing efforts. It is a true family affair, grounded in hard work, teamwork, and a shared love for dirt track racing.
So, what is next on the horizon for Bradon Holt and the number 5 team? The young Illinois driver has set his sights on big goals. He is pushing hard to hit 10 Jr. Feature wins while continuously focusing on gaining vital seat time and turning more laps in the Restrictor class. Looking down the road, Bradon has his eyes set on one of the biggest stages in all of micro sprint racing: taking on the prestigious Tulsa Shootout. With his quick learning curve and steady results, there is no doubt he is building the momentum needed to tackle those big dreams.
Of course, a racing operation like this takes an incredible community of partners to keep the wheels turning, engines running, and cars looking sharp. Bradon Holt and his entire team extend a huge thank you to every single sponsor supporting their racing journey:
