Every list has to start somewhere. This is the first Non-Wing Micro Power Rankings of the year, built off wins, win percentage, feature percentage, top five rate, and the crown jewels that matter most when the season's on the line. Ten names made the cut, three more are right on the doorstep. Here's how the board shakes out.
Kyle Spence (1)
The top spot on a debut list belongs to whoever's carrying the heaviest hardware, and right now that's Spence, and it isn't particularly close.
Six wins in 20 races, a perfect 100 percent feature rate, and a 30 percent win clip to go with it. Fourteen top fives is a 70 percent rate, the best in the entire field. Add in two crown jewels, the Terry Sprague and the Hyperspeedweek finale, and there's no résumé in this division that matches it right now.
Cullen Hutchison (2)
Two crown jewels now, the Big Dance and KKM Rush County, and the best win percentage of anybody outside the top spot.
Eleven wins in 30 races is a 36.67 percent clip, paired with a 93.33 percent feature rate and 18 top fives for a 60 percent rate. Add a second crown jewel to a card that was already steady from top to bottom, and there's no keeping him at four.
Brant Woods (3)
Two crown jewels of his own, the Outlaw Nationals in Macon and Miami County, and a résumé with almost no soft spots anywhere on the card.
Six wins in 25 races, a 92 percent feature rate, and 13 top fives for a 52 percent rate. This is what a well-rounded season looks like on paper, good enough to hold at three.
Jett Nunley (4)
One of the most decorated names in the sport lands at four on the debut board, and that's still nothing to take lightly.
Seven wins in 34 races, a 20.59 percent win rate, and 21 top fives for a 61.76 percent clip, the kind of volume very few drivers in this field can match. The Non-Wing National crown jewel is the anchor on this card, and on a list this stacked at the top, four is still an honor.
Kris Carroll (5)
The Salmon Memorial crown jewel and one of the stronger top five rates in the field put him right in the thick of the top five from week one.
Five wins in 21 races, a 90.48 percent feature rate, and 13 top fives for a 61.9 percent clip. Efficient, consistent, and dangerous every time he unloads.
Cale Cannon (6)
A 30.43 percent win rate and a 65.22 percent top five clip both play with anybody currently ranked above him, and the Sterling Memorial crown jewel gets him over the top on debut week.
Seven wins in 23 races and 15 top fives out of 23 starts. This is a résumé that's one more big check away from climbing a lot higher than six.
Frank Flud (7)
A perfect 100 percent feature rate and a 27.78 percent win clip are both elite numbers in any division, and the mini sprint nationals crown jewel gives the card the hardware it was missing.
Five wins in 18 races and 10 top fives for a 55.56 percent rate. Small sample, big numbers, and a résumé that's only going to get louder the more starts he stacks up.
Jett Yantis (8)
The best win percentage in the entire field, full stop.
Six wins in just 13 races is a 46.15 percent clip, and nine top fives is a 69.23 percent rate right behind Spence for best in the division. No crown jewel yet is the only thing keeping this card from sitting a lot higher than eight.
Alex Ruppert (9)
Four crown jewels on the card, KKM Marion, two trips to KKM Tri City, and the Transponders Nationals, more hardware than almost anybody else on this list.
Four wins in 32 races and 14 top fives for a 43.75 percent rate. The volume and the hardware are both there. The win percentage is the one number that needs to catch up to the rest of the résumé.
Caleb Shietze (10)
Rounds out the debut ten with a 93.94 percent feature rate and 21 top fives for a 63.64 percent clip, both numbers that play with anybody in this field right now.
Six wins in 33 races and no crown jewel yet, but the volume and the consistency are both undeniable.
Honorable Mention
Connor Gross just misses the cut with four wins in 30 races, a 90 percent feature rate, and 13 top fives for a 43.33 percent clip. The Transponders Nationals crown jewel keeps him firmly in the conversation for next week.
Aiden Purdue sits right on the doorstep too, three wins in 32 races with two crown jewels on the card, Texas Motor Speedway and KKM Plaza Park. The win percentage is the number holding him back from cracking the ten.
Colby Sokol rounds out the group with one win in 29 races, a 79.31 percent feature rate, and 13 top fives for a 44.83 percent clip. No crown jewel yet, but the top five numbers say the speed is very much there.
